Psychiatric care grounded in understanding, with expertise in reproductive mental health

As an adult and reproductive psychiatrist with advanced psychotherapy training, I approach treatment as an integration of psychotherapy and, when helpful, medication. Medication can be effective in treating symptoms and, at times, life-sustaining. Psychotherapy offers the possibility of deeper change and understanding.

I work with adults in a range of situations, including transitions such as pregnancy and early parenthood, periods of crisis, and times when things feel unsettled without a clear explanation. You may not know exactly what you’re looking for or how to get there, and that is okay.

How I work

My therapeutic approach is grounded in relational psychodynamic work. I see our relationship as central to the process. Together, we notice patterns as they take shape and begin to explore who you are, what matters most, and what you want and need.

Reproductive mental health

I have additional training and expertise in reproductive psychiatry, and work with patients who are trying to conceive, pregnant, or postpartum. My interest in this area began with helping individuals with more complex or acute psychiatric needs navigate pregnancy safely and make informed decisions during a particularly vulnerable time. Over time, my interest has broadened.

Pregnancy can be understood as a kind of caesura, a term used in poetry and music to indicate a break or pause. In this context, it can represent a discontinuity in identity, a sense that something has shifted or been interrupted, often accompanied by intense emotion. It can also be a period of rediscovery.

I welcome the opportunity to work with you toward a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, and toward a way of being that feels more genuine and sustaining.
